Brakes
- Sintered copper alloy compound — The friction material is a sintered copper alloy developed for this range.
- HH+ friction rating — DP rate the Sport HH+ compound HH+, a step above the GG rating on their Standard range.
- Ceramic heat shield — A high-temperature ceramic layer on the backplate keeps heat out of the caliper piston.
- Dust — DP state the compound is designed not to produce brake dust.
- Break-in — DP state the compound reaches full braking performance after a short break-in.

Three years where the two catalogues disagree, all shown above at the wider range. DP's own application data runs the ZX-10R to 2007 and the Mean Streak to 2009, where Parts Unlimited stop at 2006 and 2008. Parts Unlimited run the ZX-12R across 2004 and 2005, where DP list 2005 only. If your bike falls in one of those years, contact us and we will confirm it against DP before it ships.
If your ZX-6R is not a 636. DP put the 1998–2006 600cc ZX-6R on a different front pad — DP216, a two-pad set — and only the 636 and the ZX-6RR on this one. The bike's displacement is what decides it. Ask us for the DP216.

Description:DP Brakes SDP Sport HH+ Front Brake Pads – SDP942 – Radial Caliper
Product Overview
SDP942 is DP Brakes’ Sport HH+ front pad for the radial front calipers on the 2003–2006 ZX-6R 636 and ZX-6RR, the 2004–2007 ZX-10R, the ZX-12R and the 2003 GSX-R1000 K3.
This is a four-pad package, because these are four-pad calipers. Each radial caliper takes four small pads rather than two large ones — the pad is 38.7 mm long, and EBC’s equivalent for the same shape carries the part number FA369/4 for that reason. One package covers one caliper, and every sportbike on this list runs two front discs, so a full front-end replacement takes two packages.
Sport HH+ is DP’s high-friction street compound. DP describe it as a high-friction street, cruiser and touring pad, recommended for late-model sport bikes and for fast road, track day and high-performance braking. Front wheel use only.
If you want a stock-rated pad instead of the high-friction one, DP make DP942 in their Standard compound in this same shape. Their race compound in this shape is RDP942 (X-Race Titanium). We can order either.
Key Technology & Design
- Sintered copper alloy compound — The friction material is a sintered copper alloy developed for this range.
- HH+ friction rating — DP rate the Sport HH+ compound HH+, a step above the GG rating on their Standard range.
- Ceramic heat shield — A high-temperature ceramic layer on the backplate keeps heat out of the caliper piston.
- Dust — DP state the compound is designed not to produce brake dust.
- Break-in — DP state the compound reaches full braking performance after a short break-in.
