DP Brakes SDP Sport HH+ Front Brake Pads – SDP418 – Yamaha YZF-R1 / R6 / R7 / MT-10
Product Overview
SDP418 is DP Brakes' Sport HH+ front pad for the four-piston front calipers Yamaha has used across its sportbike range for years — the 2015–2024 YZF-R1, R1M and R1S, the 1999–2020 YZF-R6, the 2022-and-later YZF-R7 and the MT-10. The same pad also fits the MT-07, MT-09, XSR700, XSR900, FZ1, FZ8 and a number of Star cruisers.
2025-and-later YZF-R1 and R1M owners: this is not your pad. From the 2025 model year Yamaha fitted Brembo Stylema front calipers to the R1 and R1M, which take a different pad. This pad covers the 2015–2024 bikes.
One package is a set of two pads, which is one caliper. Every sportbike on this list runs two front discs, so a full front-end replacement takes two packages.
Sport HH+ is DP's high-friction street compound. DP describe it as a high-friction street, cruiser and touring pad. On the R1, R6, R7 and MT-10 this is DP's standard front pad; on the bikes marked Optional in the tables below, DP's own stock-equivalent pad for that bike is a different range and SDP418 is the higher-friction choice in the same shape. Front wheel use only.
If you want a stock-rated pad in this shape, DP make DP418 in their Standard compound. Their race compound in this shape is RDP418 (X-Race Titanium), which we also stock.
Key Technology & Design
Sintered copper alloy compound
The friction material is a sintered copper alloy developed for this range.
HH+ friction rating
DP rate the Sport HH+ compound HH+, a step above the GG rating on their Standard range.
Ceramic heat shield
A ceramic layer on the backplate keeps heat out of the caliper piston, which DP state helps prevent fade.
Dust
DP state the compound is designed not to produce brake dust.
Break-in
DP state the compound reaches full braking performance after a short break-in.
