FA226HH is EBC's Double-H sintered front pad for the current Kawasaki Ninja 650 and Z650 — the 2017-and-later bikes — along with Honda's CBR300R and CBR250R, Triumph's Trident 660, Tiger Sport 660, Street Triple and Tiger 800, and a handful of others.
On the 2017-and-later Ninja 650 both front calipers take this same pad, so a full front-end replacement takes two packages. One package is a set of two pads, which is one caliper.
Earlier Ninja 650 owners (2006–2016): this is not your pad. Those bikes use a different pad on each front caliper — EBC FA229HH on the left and FA231HH on the right.
Double-H is EBC's sintered street compound. EBC also make this shape as EPFA226HH, their track-day compound, and FA226 in their organic compound.
Key Technology & Design
Double-H sintered compound
The friction material is sintered copper alloy rather than organic, and EBC rate it HH — their top friction rating.
Pad life
EBC state the Double-H compound lasts twice as long as an organic pad.
Rotor wear
EBC state that, unlike some sintered pads, the Double-H compound is not aggressive toward discs.
Wet performance
EBC state the compound gives strong wet-weather braking.
Initial bite and feel
EBC state the compound gives improved braking response and lever feel, and brakes quietly.
ECE R90 approved
EBC state these pads are manufactured to TÜV and ECE R90 standards.
Made in the USA
EBC's Double-H pads are manufactured in the United States.
