The formula is shear stable with a high viscosity index, meaning it is built to hold its thickness as it heats up and as it is worked. It uses an anti-wear additive package and additives aimed at preventing stiction, cutting running friction and limiting foaming and air entrainment, which is what keeps damping consistent as the fork works hard.
The viscosity of this grade is 37.4 cSt at 40°C and 7.7 cSt at 100°C. It is amber in color, and each weight in the range is a different color. If your fork's service data calls for a particular viscosity or oil level, follow that.
