About the certification: EN 13634:2017 sets two performance levels, Level 1 and Level 2. Alpinestars print the level a boot reached on the boot's own label rather than publishing it per model, so read the label inside the boot if the level matters to you.
Size Chart
Alpinestars' own chart for the SMX Plus V2. It runs EU 39 to 48; Alpinestars publish no US equivalent for EU 36, 37 or 38 on this chart. Measure the longest part of your foot and compare it against the comfort size for the column you are looking at.

Alpinestars' own fitting advice is to try boots on with the socks you actually ride in, fasten everything, then walk, bend and sit on a bike before deciding. They also note that a new boot feels stiff until it is broken in, so a fit that is slightly tight when new is a better bet than one that is comfortable new and slack later.
Care Instructions
Alpinestars' guidance for their road and MX footwear: clean dirty boots under running water with a sponge, and do not pressure-wash them. Never use strong cleaning agents or solvents — they can weaken the materials and attack the colour and finish of the plastic. After washing, wipe the surface water off with a cloth and lay the boots on their sides to dry naturally. Do not dry them next to a fire or a radiator. Between rides keep them fastened so they hold their shape, and store them in their box in a well-ventilated place — not in a cellar or a plastic bag, where mould can take hold. Check that the sole still has tread and that the fasteners still work, and after a crash inspect the boots thoroughly. Alpinestars say a boot that can no longer be fastened properly, or that has holes or tears, must be replaced, and that the user should not modify or repair it.

Description:Alpinestars SMX Plus V2 Vented Boots – Black
Product Overview
Alpinestars describe the SMX Plus V2 as the next generation of their SMX Plus line, known for track day performance and protection. The upper is microfiber with perforated panels, and vents in the heel and shin TPU feed air through the boot.
Ankle protection is Alpinestars’ Multi-Link Control system, which they state supports and protects the ankle between the lateral top calf, shin and ankle while limiting hyper-torsion, hyper-extension and hyper-flexion, and still leaving enough movement to work the controls. A wide heel counter wraps the back of the foot with a shock-absorbing padded insert and self-moulding ankle protectors.
The boot closes with an inner instep speed lace using Alpinestars’ polymer-resin Lace-Lock system, plus a lateral zip and a micro-adjustable ratchet at the top. The toe slider, heel slider and external side heel slider are replaceable.
This is the vented version. Alpinestars also catalogue the SMX Plus V2 in colourways other than plain black; the construction is the same.
