Riding Gear
- The main upper is technical microfiber, which Alpinestars use for abrasion resistance at lower weight than leather.
Separate bio-mechanical inner bootie
- A second, removable boot in 3D mesh sits inside the outer. Alpinestars state it stabilises the ankle and carries a soft TPU reinforcement over the toe plus integrated ankle padding for impact energy absorption.
Injected TPU shin plate
- A moulded shin plate sits in the front of the chassis, with its own replaceable shin slider screwed to it.
Replaceable TPU and aluminium toe slider
- Co-injected TPU and aluminium, fixed with screws, so it can be swapped when it wears through.
Replaceable heel plate slider
- Mounted to the external heel counter. Alpinestars state it promotes controlled sliding and protects the heel.
TPU shifter panel
- On the lower medial side, where the boot meets the shift lever.
Side zip with stretch panel and zipper keeper
- A TPU stretch panel with a side zip handles entry, and a hook-and-loop keeper holds the zip pull down so it stays put.
Micro-adjustable ratchet at the calf
- The top closure is a ratchet, so calf volume can be set in small steps rather than by a fixed strap.
Rubber outsole
- Alpinestars specify a lightweight rubber compound for the sole.

About the certification: EN 13634:2017 sets two performance levels, Level 1 and Level 2. Alpinestars print the level a boot reached on the boot's own label rather than publishing it per model, so read the label inside the boot if the level matters to you.

Alpinestars' own fitting advice is to try boots on with the socks you actually ride in, fasten everything, then walk, bend and sit on a bike before deciding. They also note that a new boot feels stiff until it is broken in, so a fit that is slightly tight when new is a better bet than one that is comfortable new and slack later.
Care Instructions
Alpinestars' guidance for their road and MX footwear: clean dirty boots under running water with a sponge, and do not pressure-wash them. Never use strong cleaning agents or solvents — they can weaken the materials and attack the colour and finish of the plastic. After washing, wipe the surface water off with a cloth and lay the boots on their sides to dry naturally; take the inner bootie out and dry it separately. Do not dry them next to a fire or a radiator. Between rides keep them fastened so they hold their shape, and store them in their box in a well-ventilated place — not in a cellar or a plastic bag, where mould can take hold. Check that the sole still has tread and that the fasteners still work, and after a crash inspect the boots thoroughly. Alpinestars say a boot that can no longer be fastened properly, or that has holes or tears, must be replaced, and that the user should not modify or repair it.

Description:Alpinestars Supertech R Boots – Black/Black
Product Overview
The Supertech R is the boot Alpinestars call their definitive racing boot, and they describe this version as a revision of almost every component of it — the front flex area, the rear bellow, the top gaiter, the shifter panel, the shin plate, the shin slider and the inner bootie. Alpinestars say the changes came from feedback out of their own racing programs.
It is built around two separate parts: an outer chassis in technical microfiber, and a separate bio-mechanical inner bootie in 3D mesh that carries its own toe reinforcement and ankle padding. The toe slider, shin slider and heel plate slider all unscrew and are replaceable, so the parts that touch the ground in a crash can be changed rather than ending the boot.
This is the solid version. Alpinestars also build the same boot as the Supertech R Vented, with a laser-perforated upper and ventilation channels through the front flex area for hot weather.
This colourway is Black/Black, which is Alpinestars’ blacked-out finish. They list the same boot separately in plain Black.
