Riding Gear
- Kangaroo leather on the palm and fingers, and a bovine and goat leather blend on the back of the hand. The palm seams are sewn on the inside.
DFS Race knuckle protector
- A dual-density hard knuckle on a soft mounting. Alpinestars state it is designed to take repeated impacts and to let the knuckle slide rather than catch.
DFS Race cuff
- The gauntlet cuff carries the same DFS protection for coverage and abrasion resistance over the wrist.
Finger and hand armour
- TPU protectors on the fingers, contoured with stitched leather overlays, plus impact-absorbing layers on the fingers, back of the hand, palm landing zone and the outer edge of the hand.
Sliders and aramid reinforcement
- A hard palm slider, finger sliders and side reinforcements, with an aramid lining under the back of the hand and the palm landing zone. Alpinestars state the sliders also reduce heat transfer during a slide.
Finger bridge
- The third and fourth fingers are joined so the little finger cannot roll or separate from the hand in a slide.
Dual closure
- A wrist adjuster plus a separate cuff closure flap.
Flex and airflow
- Accordion leather panels on the fingers, thumb and back of the hand for movement, and a perforated gusset at the knuckles for ventilation.

Product Overview
The GP Pro R4 is a full-gauntlet leather glove that Alpinestars describe as built for road riders who ride hard, carrying protection derived from their racing gloves. The palm and fingers are kangaroo leather and the back of the hand is a bovine and goat leather blend, with Alpinestars’ DFS Race protectors on the knuckle and cuff.
Alpinestars certify it to EN 13594:2015, Level 1, with the KP marking for knuckle protection.
This listing is the all-black colourway. Alpinestars also make it in Black/White.
