Rotational impact coating
- The EPS surface carries Alpinestars' patented low-friction coating, which acts as a slip plane to cut rotational acceleration in an angled impact. Alpinestars state the S-R7 exceeds the ECE 22.06 Peak Rotational Acceleration requirement by 80%.
Inner shell
- Multi-density EPS liner in seven pieces and six densities, with its dimensions matched to each helmet size.
Collarbone recesses
- A recess on each side of the shell, each fitted with a PLASMA insert for shock absorption in a slide.
Field of view
- Alpinestars quote 220 degrees of peripheral vision and 57 degrees of vertical vision.
Shield
- ECE 22.06 homologated, optical Class 1, anti-scratch treated on both sides, 1.6 mm thick at the edges and 2.6 mm at the centre. Pinned for the Pinlock 120XLT MaxVision lens. It comes off without tools.
A-Head fitment system
- A micro-adjustable pad on the inner EPS liner sets the height the helmet sits at and the angle it tilts, on top of choosing a size.
Ventilation
- Ten ports: six intakes (three in the chin guard, three on top under a sliding vent) and four exhausts (two on the chin bar, two at the rear). Air from the chin vents is routed onto the inside of the shield to help keep it clear.
Aerodynamics
- Integrated spoiler with lateral winglets, which Alpinestars say reduce turbulence and drag.
Lining
- Every lining piece is removable and washable, with anti-microbial fabric treatment. The 3D foam cheek pads have channels for glasses, an Emergency Release System and a hydration tube channel.
Communication
- Built to take Alpinestars' A-Connect communication system, sold separately.

Alpinestars measure head circumference at the widest point, just above the eyebrows and the ears. Thicker and thinner cheek pads and crown pads are sold separately by Alpinestars for fine-tuning the fit.
Care Instructions
The linings and cheek pads come out for washing. Clean the shell and shield with mild soap and water only; solvents, fuel and glass cleaner can damage the shield's anti-scratch coating. Replace any helmet that has taken an impact, whether or not damage is visible.

Product Overview
The S-R7 is Alpinestars’ composite-shell full-face helmet for road and track, and the A-Core is one of its graphic versions. This one is finished in gloss red and white. The shell, liner, shield and fit system are the same as on the solid-colour S-R7; the graphic is the difference.
Alpinestars homologate the S-R7 to both ECE 22.06 and DOT. The shell is a pre-preg epoxy composite of carbon, aramid fiber and fiberglass, made in three outer shell sizes.
The Pinlock 120 MaxVision anti-fog lens comes in the box.
