Outer Shell Construction
The S-R7 features an advanced multi-composite shell constructed using a pre-preg epoxy resin bonding process for maximum mechanical performance.
Shell layers include:
- Carbon outer layer for radial strength
- Aramid fiber for penetration resistance
- Fiberglass layer for energy dissipation
The shell design is aerodynamically streamlined and free from external channels that could compromise structural integrity during impact. Collarbone recesses incorporate dual Alpinestars PLASMA inserts to reduce the risk of injury during a slide.

Inner Shell & Rotational Protection
The inner shell features a multi-density EPS liner constructed from seven pieces in six different densities. Each helmet size uses a specifically dimensioned EPS liner matched to its corresponding outer shell.
The EPS surface incorporates Alpinestars’ patented low-friction slip-plane coating, designed to mimic the brain’s natural cerebrospinal fluid. This system reduces rotational acceleration during oblique impacts and exceeds ECE 22.06 peak rotational acceleration standards.
